What do you do on a rainy weekend?
Just a quick post to get some input! The weather here in Maryland has taken a quick turn for “nasty” and we are supposed to get rain for the next few days, including through the weekend. It feels like the winter season quickly showed up, rather than having a chance to enjoy the fall weather.
So, while I was planning on to get in a hike at Gambrill State Park this weekend, it looks like that idea is shot. So, what do you do on a nasty rainy and cold weekend when you can’t get out on the trail to go hiking but wish you were?
Here’s a couple thing’s that I’ve been thinking about doing:
- Recipe/Food testing – I have a couple recipes that I want to test as well as methods to cook them. Not being on the trail means I could probably still cook them in the house on the kitchen stove to try them out.
- Gear Cleaning – We were out car camping with some friends last weekend and still have a bunch of gear spread around the house that needs to be cleaned, packed up, and put away. This, unfortunately, will be something I have to tackle this weekend.
- Take a visit to your favorite gear store – Saturday may be just cause for heading to the local outdoor store to look around and see whats going on, as well as just get out of the house…even if it is raining.
- Organize your previous trip photos – Whether you use Facebook, Flickr, or some other photo sharing site to upload your pictures to the net, a day indoors is a great time to catch up on them. I still have some pictures from our drive up Pikes Peak in August that I need to get on to Facebook.
Believers video So there you have it, that’s pretty much what my weekend will look like. Now, for all of you out there, what do you like to do on a rainy weekend when you don’t want to hit the trail and get soaked? Leave your comments to share your ideas!
