Gear Review: Eagles Nest Outfitters (ENO) Travel Rag

travel-rag Have you ever gone camping at a campground and taken a shower only to find that you’ve forgotten to bring a towel? I have, and more than once. Camping towels, like the Travel Rag from Eagle Nest Outfitters, are a convenient item to include in personal care kit so that you’re never caught naked again, and dripping wet.

It doesn’t matter if you are car camping or backpacking, the Travel Rag is a unobtrusive piece of gear

that has a variety of functions beyond just drying off after a shower or swim. Weighing just 1.4 oz., the Travel Rag is 22″ x12″, is about the size of a handkerchief and can be used as a pot holder, a sponge, a washcloth, or even as a bath towel, despite it’s miniature size.

In addition, the Travel Rag is astonishingly absorbent. I tested this by using it as a bath towel at home for a few days. I was skeptical at first because it’s suede like texture is different from the other camping towels that I own. But, the Travel Rag is as good or better for drying off with and easier to ring dry because the material is thinner.

Let me start by saying – I love hammocks. Plain and simple, if you have a good hammock, then chances are that I will like it. If you are looking for a hammock for either your backyard, your campsite, your little adventure to the park, to keep in your kayak, for use on your boat, or whatever, then you should definitely consider any of the hammocks from Eagle Nest Outfitters (ENO). The products they are producing are high quality and very affordable. Here is a quick video I made testing out the hammock.

The set up for the hammock is litterally seconds. ENO also produces SlapStraps Kinky Boots move which are straps that you can use to set up your hammock system. If you do not want to purchase the SlapStraps, then you could easily use any other webbing or rope that you have handy. By slinging the tree with a couple straps, clipping in the carabiners, and laying down, you are ready to relax and feel at peace…or at least enjoy yourself for a little while.

Eagle Nest Outfitter Hammocks Coming to The Gear House!

A couple weeks ago I wrote about my reflections on Gauley Fest. One of the points that I made was that I got asked a lot of questions about gear that people were looking for, one of those products was hammocks. Well, the good folks at Eagle Nest Outfitters got wind of the post through a Google Alert and reached out to me.

After emailing back and forth with one of their people, I got a dealer account established with the company and placed my first order. With the products set to arrive tomorrow, I am excited to start offering their products through the new TheGearHouse store that should be launching next week. I’ll also be selling them through eBay as well.

In my first order, I have mostly hammocks and straps coming but I also have one of the DryFly Tarps.The hammocks and other gear are great for backpacking, camping, or just taking on a day trip to relax with! Once I get a chance to test them out (hopefully next weekend) I’ll post up some reviews, pictures, and videos.
